Last reviewed: July 24, 2026
Michigan at a glance Michigan does not license home care: non-medical agencies operate without a state license, and skilled home health agencies need only Medicare certification, with LARA acting as the federal survey agency. Michigan's minimum wage is $13.73 in 2026 (on a court-ordered schedule to $15.00 by 2027, then indexed), and the Earned Sick Time Act (effective February 21, 2025) requires up to 72 hours of paid sick time from most employers.
